Our client is a well-established property management firm boasting a decades-long history with its Headquarters based in North London. They provide property management services to a large portfolio of properties across the capital and spanning down to the South Coast. The organization is steadily expanding its asset base through a mix of acquiring new properties, building developments and repurposing existing sites.

As a Building Surveyor your role will be to drive regional housing schemes from initial planning approvals through construction to final handover. Working closely with executive leadership, you will prove out early-stage build phases to secure reinvestment and fuel business growth across the UK residential sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Spearhead capital construction initiatives from the initial concept phase straight through to final handover and operational readiness, maintaining a professional standard throughout.
  • Lead, direct, and motivate cross-functional project teams, including design professionals, cost consultants, and external contractors, while acting as the primary chairperson for all major stakeholder meetings.
  • Oversee project timelines, generate comprehensive progress reports, and design detailed work schedules.
  • Proactively identify roadblocks to ensure all deliverables meet strict safety, schedule, budget, and design-quality requirements.
  • Implement robust procedures, standardized documentation, and modern project tools to tightly manage expenditures, maintain high-quality outputs, handle scope changes, and protect the overall schedule.
  • Exhibit strong personal ownership and leadership capabilities, backed by a proven history of successfully delivering multi-million pound projects.
  • Fully execute all duties assigned to the Project Manager under formal client agreements, which includes serving in capacities such as Employers Agent, Contract Administrator, and Client Representative.
  • Leverage a deep working knowledge of the construction and refurbishment sector, including specialized supply chains, material sourcing, modern building methods, and diverse procurement strategies.
  • Deliver high-level financial analysis and cost guidance, while actively reviewing, challenging, and managing cost evaluations supplied by third parties.
  • Maintain a strong grasp of activity durations, operational dependencies, lead times, and potential constraints to build and manage realistic project timelines for complex initiatives.
  • Master change management workflows to effectively steer projects through scope adjustments and unexpected modifications.
Essential Experience / Qualifications and Attributes Required:
  • Relevant degree in Building Surveying, Engineering, or Construction Management (or an equivalent industry-related discipline).
