Solar PV Estimator – Rooftop & Ground Mount (Up to 70MW)

Exeter or Leeds (Hybrid working considered)

Full-Time | £35,000 – £45,000 DOE

Are you an experienced Solar PV Estimator looking to work on high-impact renewable energy projects? TQR is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a leading name in the renewable energy sector, known for delivering large-scale solar PV systems across the UK.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking team working on rooftop and ground-mounted solar projects up to 70MW. If you’re detail-oriented, technically skilled, and passionate about sustainability, we want to hear from you!

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Reviewing project plans, specifications, and site assessments for rooftop and ground-mount PV systems.
  • Preparing accurate cost estimates covering materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Collaborating with engineering and project teams to develop optimal system layouts and bills of materials.
  • Conducting site visits (where required) to assess project-specific conditions.
  • Sourcing and evaluating vendor and subcontractor quotes.
  • Supporting business development and sales teams with technical input and bid documentation.
  • Producing client-facing proposals and tender submissions.
  • Maintaining up-to-date cost databases and estimation tools.
  • Contributing to value engineering and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Staying informed on industry trends, codes, and innovations.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Renewable Energy, or similar.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in solar PV estimation, ideally including large-scale systems.
  • Proficiency with PV design and estimating tools (e.g., Helioscope, PVsyst, AutoCAD, Excel).
  • Strong understanding of electrical and civil construction practices.
  • Desirable: Experience with BESS, PPA models, and financial modelling.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple estimates independently.
  • NABCEP certification or equivalent is a plus.
  • Knowledge of permitting and utility interconnection processes.
