An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Maintenance Electrician to join a fast-moving manufacturing site in Plymouth, supporting the upkeep and development of the site’s electrical infrastructure. This position is centred around facilities and building services electrical work within a manufacturing environment, offering the opportunity to build on existing skills and develop further over time. The business is seeking a practical, hands-on electrician who is comfortable working independently and keen to continue developing their skills.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Carry out reactive and planned electrical maintenance across site facilities
- Fault finding and repair of electrical infrastructure and building services
- Support small electrical installations, including cabling and containment
- Complete remedial works following fixed-wire inspections
- Assist with electrical work within production areas where required
- Coordinate and oversee external contractors, ensuring RAMS and H&S compliance
- Support safe and efficient day-to-day site operations
Essential Experience / Qualifications and Attributes Required:
- Experience within commercial, facilities, or light industrial environments
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- An electrical apprenticeship or equivalent practical training
- The ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
- Confidence working around site infrastructure, wiring, and containment systems
- A proactive approach to health & safety and compliance
Desirable:
- City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing)
- IPAF and/or PASMA
- IOSH Working Safely
- Experience liaising with contractors and reviewing RAMS
- Basic IT skills (Word/Excel)
