Responsibilities
- Focus on accounts payable - managing the purchase ledger including coding and processing invoices, payment runs, staff expenses and corporate card transactions
- Setting up new suppliers on the accounting system (NetSuite)
- Supporting accounts receivable - credit control, raising sales invoices, liaising with project managers and reviewing client queries
- Reconciliation of bank accounts and other items as directed by the (Senior) Finance Manager
- Support the month-end and year-end process and preparation of monthly financial accounts
- Assisting with any other ad-hoc duties as required including assisting with accounts payable
- Continuously maintain and update skills and knowledge to stay current within your relevant field of expertise
About You
Professional knowledge and experience
- Solid understanding of core accounting concepts including accounts receivable, accounts payable, ledger management, VAT, and reconciliation processes
- Proficiency with accounting software such as NetSuite and Xero, including experience in transaction processing, supplier/client setup, and reporting
- Experience managing aged debts, credit limits, and client communications to ensure timely collections
- Basic skills in short-term cash flow forecasting and financial reporting support
- Knowledge of relevant tax regulations (e.g. VAT) and financial controls to ensure adherence to company policies and legal requirements
- Ability to analyze discrepancies, resolve financial queries, and improve processes
- Strong interpersonal skills for liaising with internal teams, clients, and suppliers effectively
Technical skills
Accounting & Reporting
- Basic understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, sales & purchase invoices, supplier/client management
- Understanding of correct VAT application
- Maintaining accurate financial records and managing multiple datasets
- Awareness of accounting standards
Internal Controls and Compliance
- Familiarity with audit processes
- Understanding of internal controls
- NetSuite (preferred) or similar ERP systems
- Advanced Excel (e.g. pivot tables, formulas)
- Electronic payment platforms for banking
