Join to apply for the Principal Solution Architect role at TPXimpact | B Corp. We’re growing our team! We’re looking for Principal Solution Architects who will serve as key leaders on client-facing projects. This role involves guiding clients and development teams through complex digital product development and technology implementations. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to understand context, co-design solutions, and lead technical teams through product development.

You will be accountable for running projects, leading architecture work across some of our most complex and high-impact client programmes. You will design and oversee end-to-end technology solutions that are scalable, secure, user-centred, and ethically responsible. This role involves translating business needs into technology solutions, creating architecture artifacts, and supporting clients to make sustainable and user-focused technology choices.

You might be a specialist in a particular technology domain or platform -- such as legacy system migration, m365, Azure, GCP, AWS, data platforms or intelligent process automation -- but you will apply a technology agnostic perspective. Your work will be human-centred, design-led, and agile. As a principal consultant, you will lead projects but may also work solo or contribute as a member of a team as needed. You will be the source of technical oversight and advice for the wider team and for the client.

The Principal Solution Architect will also drive the growth of the Technology Strategy and Architecture practice, contribute to business development, and mentor other consultants and architects. We are committed to having a positive impact on the clients and the communities we serve. We actively encourage applications from women, disabled, Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic candidates and historically under-represented groups.

Responsibilities
  • Lead projects or workstreams in technology engagements.
  • Collaborate with client teams to align technical solutions with organisational strategies and user needs.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, building trust with C-level executives and senior stakeholders.
  • Define and communicate end-to-end solution architectures for complex programmes and services, translating business and user needs into scalable, ethical, and maintainable technical designs.
  • Conduct thorough technical assessments and provide actionable recommendations for decision-makers. Explain the potential impact, costs, benefits, and risks of recommendations.
  • Support client architecture governance, ensuring alignment with enterprise, data, and security standards.
  • Contribute to delivery planning to support agile product development.
  • Facilitate architecture decision-making with clients, balancing strategic and tactical needs.
  • Produce high-quality artefacts — roadmaps, diagrams, architecture models, and written briefs.
  • Engage with technical leadership across TPXimpact to align ways of working, tooling, and capability.
  • Create artefacts such as technology roadmaps, options appraisals, and architecture diagrams.
  • Communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Promote ethical, inclusive, and sustainable technology practices.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across design, data, and delivery.
  • Support bids and pre-sales activities, shaping architecture approaches and delivery models.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and drive the adoption of innovative technologies within client environments.
  • Advocate for best practices and process improvement.
  • Mentor and develop other consultants and architects, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Line management of 0-4 other consultants, dependent on business need.
  • Provide thought leadership and contribute to business development and marketing activities.
  • Contribute to the continual development of our technology and data practice.
About You
  • Extensive experience leading the design of architectures for complex solutions ensuring consistency with agreed requirements and standards.
  • Deep knowledge of enterprise systems, APIs/integration, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and data ecosystems.
  • Experience developing and reviewing architecture artefacts. Skilled in architecture modelling (C4, ArchiMate, UML), and tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, Draw.io, or Enterprise Architect.
  • Proven ability to work with stakeholders at multiple levels across organisations.
  • Experience of communicating technical concepts and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience of leading architectural governance and assurance.
  • Strong experience working with agile product delivery teams in complex organisational settings.
  • Experience throughout the product life cycle and ability to define appropriate technical activities at each stage.
  • Experience delivering projects in a consultancy environment.
  • Champion of user needs and user research in the context of technology.
  • Committed to personal and professional development, staying abreast of industry trends.
  • A technology and platform agnostic perspective.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with public sector architecture standards and platforms (e.g. gov.uk PaaS, NHS Spine).
  • Experience working in diverse, remote, and multi-disciplinary teams.
