TPS provides independent garages and bodyshops with the high-quality Genuine Parts and products which customers need to ensure they can service and repair Volkswagen Group vehicles. TPS is part of the Volkswagen Group along with Audi, SEAT, KODA, Volkswagen passenger cars and Commercial Vehicles. TPS is a national network of TPS Centres with a 1,500-strong national workforce and a management team that prides itself on creating an environment that offers our people a motivating and inclusive workplace where they are recognised and rewarded and are encouraged to go on a journey of Learning and Development.
Nationally launched as a new brand concept in 2006, TPS is based on an Agency Model; this means that Centres stock and sell on behalf of Volkswagen Group UK. TPS has continued to experience rapid growth both financially and in the number of Centres opened nationwide.
About the Role
Reporting to the TPS Area Sales Manager, working across multiple TPS Centres the BDM will be accountable for achieving sales targets and growing a loyal customer base. Delivering an exceptional customer experience is also an essential part of this role as is being a brand and product expert.
Sales
- Work with the ASM and TPS Centre Managers to create and deliver on a sales strategy to consistently increase sales revenues from mechanical customers whilst maintaining a loyal customer base.
- Achieve target KPI's and revenue objectives in your territory for key mechanical customers.
- Identify, secure and develop new customer accounts within territory.
- Ensure marketing initiatives are embedded and supported and monitor the success of the targeted customer sets, promotions and campaigns.
- Present and report on sales and marketing activity v performance.
- Utilise internal and external market data to develop an understanding of the potential sales opportunities within the customer base and territory.
- Ensure you are adequately trained and understand the Unique Selling Proposition of the TPS brand, the 'Features and Benefits' of the TPS product range especially the genuine v non-genuine aspect and are adequately trained to overcome sales objections.
- Effectively manage your time to maximise opportunities from customer visits.
- Work with TPS Centre colleagues to leverage customer set visits and call objectives.
Stakeholder Management
- Keep key stakeholders updated on sales performance via formal and informal market plus statistical presentations.
- Manage and maximise the support from the business investor partner and TPS investors in order to support your targets and objectives.
- Work collaboratively with ASM and CMs and contribute to the Business Improvement Plans.
Customer Experience
- Manage and maintain relationships with all customers.
- Provide the highest level of customer service by offering a knowledgeable, responsive, courteous service that reflects the image and reputation of the TPS business.
Requirements
- An ability to effectively engage and communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Proven experience of creating strategies and managing activities to grow and develop business.
- A practical level of business financial awareness to provide valued input, and insight, at an operational level and recognise areas of risk and opportunity.
- Experience of managing national campaigns and activities.
- A proven ability or aptitude for leading and motivating a team to achieve business targets in a B2B or automotive environment.
- A thorough understanding of the core processes necessary to deliver centre excellence in specified area.
- Possess a high degree of IT literacy.
- Minimum GCSE in Maths and English Language or equivalent.
