About the Role
As a Product Development Manager , you\’ll be responsible for:
- Leading a portfolio of training product developments , ensuring timely, cost-effective delivery aligned with the organisation\’s quality and strategic goals.
- Managing a small team (1-3 direct reports) , supporting their development and embedding a culture of continuous improvement.
- Driving product innovation , informed by customer research, market trends, and collaboration with the Instructor Network, Marketing, and Industry Partnerships teams.
- Owning the end-to-end product lifecycle – from scoping and development through to maintenance, review, and quality assurance.
- Maintaining a close eye on quality , ensuring every product meets internal standards and external regulatory requirements.
Skills / Experience Required
Essential:
- Proven experience in product or project management (minimum 1-2 years), ideally in the education/training sector.
- Excellent team leadership and performance management skills.
- Strong communicator, comfortable collaborating across departments and engaging with external stakeholders like training providers.
- Highly organised, with a strong grip on risk management , scheduling, and project delivery.
- Analytical, with a good understanding of how to respond to market trends and customer feedback.
Desirable:
- Experience working in an Awarding Organisation or similar regulated environment.
- Knowledge of training provider networks , industry standards, or regulatory frameworks for education and assessment.
- Familiarity with instructional design or blended learning methodologies.
- Understanding of sectors such as agriculture, environment, and rural industries.
