Hours: 37.5 hours

The Pharmacist Network is a pharmacist-led organisation that provides services to general practices nationally, focusing on patient-centred care and fostering a culture of positivity, transparency, and excellence. We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed Senior Clinical Pharmacist to join our dynamic growing team.

The successful candidate will:

  • Work collaboratively as part of a larger team to improve patient care.
  • Possess vital leadership and management skills.
  • Be a pharmacist registered with the GPhC, acting within their professional boundaries.
  • Provide leadership, line management, and support to clinical pharmacists and pharmacy technicians within the PCN/Practices they are responsible for.

This role is pivotal to improving the quality of care and operational efficiencies, requiring motivation and passion to develop this role and deliver excellence within general practice.

About the role:

  • Support Head Office with core functions such as administrative and recruitment support.
  • Maintain a safe clinical rota and support staff logistics.
  • Work with admin to discuss rotas, cover, illness, and HR emails from pharmacists.
  • Support recruitment and retention of staff, including participating in interviews.
  • Support Trainee Technicians with their workload, deliver required training, track their progress, and provide feedback.
  • Write, approve, and review documents, policies, and protocols.
  • Attend and engage in Senior weekly meetings and complete assigned actions in a timely manner.
  • Deliver training to ensure staff are competent to work within their boundaries.
  • Develop training guides, SOPs, and policies to support their work.
  • Signpost pharmacists needing additional training to resources (MORPh, CPPE, RPS, etc.).
  • Research resources to signpost to clinicians and patients.
  • Perform monthly 1-2-1s, review ongoing competency using the competency framework, and complete annual appraisals.
  • Observe CPPE work, give feedback, and liaise with their clinical supervisor or CPPE tutor as required.
  • Check all Pharmacists have appropriate workload and ledgers.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of consultations and provide constructive feedback.
