TPF Recruitment is pleased to be working with an independent and well‑established accountancy practice in Weybridge, who are looking to recruit a Tax Manager to join their growing tax team. This is a key role within the firm, working closely with partners and managing a varied portfolio of personal and corporate tax clients. The practice is known for its progressive partner group, strong internal structure from trainee through to partner level, and modern systems that support efficient and high-quality work.
About the Role
As a Mixed Tax Manager, you will take responsibility for both compliance and advisory work across personal and corporate tax, while also playing a key role in reviewing work and developing junior team members. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a mixed tax portfolio covering personal tax, corporation tax, CGT and IHT
- Preparing and reviewing personal and corporate tax returns and computations
- Providing tax planning and advisory support to a broad client base
- Reviewing work prepared by junior and semi‑senior staff, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members, offering guidance and constructive feedback
- Assisting with HMRC enquiries and correspondence
- Working closely with partners on advisory projects and complex tax matters
- Building and maintaining strong, trusted client relationships
- Ensuring all work is completed within agreed deadlines and professional standards
- Identifying opportunities to add value and expand the firm’s tax services
Requirements
The successful candidate is likely to have:
- ACA, ACCA and or CTA qualification, or qualified by experience
- Strong experience across both personal and corporate tax
- Experience reviewing tax work and supervising junior staff
- Solid technical knowledge of UK tax legislation and HMRC requirements
- Confidence managing client relationships and delivering proactive advice
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Experience using modern tax and accounting software
- A commercially minded and solutions‑focused approach
This salary will likely be between £60,000-£70,000 but it will be dependent on experience.
