Responsibilities:
Manage end-to-end accounting processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end and year-end closing and financial reporting.
Ensure compliance with UK GAAP, HMRC regulations, and industry-specific financial standards within the music and entertainment sector.
Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and performance dashboards for internal stakeholders and external auditors.
Provide advisory support to business units on financial planning, budgeting and cost control initiatives.
Collaborate with legal and tax teams to ensure accurate treatment of royalties, licensing fees and intellectual property income.
Monitor and maintain compliance with contract terms, royalty statements and distribution agreements across artist and label portfolios.
Lead reconciliation of complex revenue streams, including streaming, live events, sync licensing and merchandise sales.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy and scalability of accounting operations. Support internal and external audits, providing documentation and explanations as required.
Mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of team capabilities and knowledge sharing.
RequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; ACA, ACCA qualification in progress or fully qualified.
Professional accounting experience, preferably within the music, entertainment, or creative industries.
Proven experience in financial reporting, compliance, and audit support in a regulated environment. Strong understanding of royalty accounting, revenue recognition and contract compliance in creative sectors.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros).Excellent attention to detail, analytical mindset and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
Experience working with international clients, multi-currency transactions and cross-border financial reporting is highly advantageous.
Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as GDPR anti-money laundering (AML) and data protection in financial services. BenefitsThis role offers a competitive salary of 45,000–55,000, dependent on experience and qualifications.
