TPF Recruitment, Kent’s leading accountancy practice recruitment agency, is supporting a highly regarded firm of chartered accountants in Sevenoaks as they look to appoint an Audit and Accounts Manager to their growing team. This is a key hire offering genuine progression, with a clear pathway through to Senior Manager, Director and ultimately Partnership for the right person. The firm is open to shaping the role around your experience and long term aspirations. The position will be centred around a mix of audit and accounts work, with the balance tailored to suit the successful applicant. You will work with a varied client base, including a significant number of corporate clients across a broad range of sectors, with turnovers reaching up to £250m.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage the delivery of audit and accountancy services across a diverse portfolio of owner managed and corporate clients.
- Lead audits from planning through to completion, ensuring effective communication with both the internal team and clients.
- Chair pre audit and post audit meetings and present final draft accounts.
- Provide strong technical guidance to clients and act as a trusted adviser on wider business matters.
- Build and develop client relationships, contributing to the firm’s ongoing retention and business development efforts.
- Supervise, mentor and develop a team of qualified and part qualified staff, reviewing their work and supporting their progression.
- Support team development through coaching, feedback and ongoing training.
- Play an active role within the management team, with the opportunity to get involved in wider projects and contribute to the firm’s long term growth.
Requirements:
- Qualified ACA or ACCA (or equivalent).
- Ideally 5+ years’ post qualification experience in practice.
- Strong background in accounts preparation, auditing SME and corporate clients, and exposure to taxation (corporate, business and personal).
- Experience supervising and developing staff.
- Confident communicator, comfortable dealing directly with clients and partners.
- Proactive, able to work on your own initiative with minimal supervision.
- Excellent planning, organisation and time management skills.
- Good IT skills.
