This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tax professional to join a highly ambitious and expanding firm, delivering both compliance and advisory services to a diverse client base. As Senior Tax Manager, you will take ownership of a varied portfolio of clients, delivering high quality tax compliance and advisory work while supporting junior team members and working closely with partners on specialist projects. This is a key role within the tax team, offering both technical depth and leadership responsibility.
Key Responsibilities- Tax Compliance and Technical Delivery
- Prepare tax returns for individuals and partnerships
- Prepare ERS and EMI returns
- Prepare P11D forms and PSA calculations
- Support clients with capital gains tax and inheritance tax matters
- Deal with HMRC enquiries and client queries
- Ensure accurate and timely delivery of all compliance work
- Tax Advisory and Planning
- Identify and implement tax planning opportunities for clients
- Assist partners with specialist tax consultancy projects
- Provide advisory support across a range of tax areas
- Translate complex tax issues into clear, understandable advice
- Client Management
- Act as a key point of contact for a portfolio of tax clients
- Build and maintain strong, long term client relationships
- Support the development of new business opportunities
- Provide a high level of client service and responsiveness
- Team Management
- Manage workflow and support junior team members
- Review work prepared by junior staff and provide feedback
- Mentor and develop less experienced members of the team
- Contribute to the overall development of the tax department
- Portfolio and Delivery Management
- Manage your own workload and deadlines effectively
- Ensure high standards of accuracy and technical quality
- Work collaboratively with partners and wider team members
- Support efficient delivery across compliance and advisory work
- At least 3 years’ experience in a tax role within an accountancy practice
- CTA qualified or qualified by experience, other qualifications considered
- Strong technical knowledge across a range of tax areas
- Experience in both compliance and advisory work
- Excellent client relationship and communication skills
- Ability to explain complex tax matters in plain English
- Strong IT skills including intermediate Excel
- Experience with CCH would be an advantage
- Full UK driving licence and access to own transport
- Salary: £60,000+
