TPF Recruitment is supporting a leading and highly respected accountancy and advisory firm in their search for a Personal Tax Assistant Manager to join their growing Peterborough office.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ATT, CTA or ACA/ACCA qualified professional, or someone nearing qualification, who is looking to take the next step in their tax career. The role offers a mix of personal tax compliance, tax advisory and client relationship management, working with a varied portfolio of high net worth individuals, business owners, directors and trusts.
You'll join a collaborative and supportive tax team that places a strong emphasis on professional development, client service and career progression.
The Role
As a Personal Tax Assistant Manager, you will manage your own portfolio of clients while supporting senior tax professionals on a range of advisory projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a portfolio of personal tax clients
- Reviewing personal tax returns prepared by junior team members
- Providing tax planning and advisory support to private clients
- Advising on capital gains tax, inheritance tax and residency matters
- Assisting with trust tax and estate planning work
- Supporting directors and partners with complex advisory projects
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Identifying tax planning opportunities for clients
- Mentoring and supporting junior members of the tax team
- Ensuring compliance deadlines are met and service levels remain high
Requirements
To be considered, you will ideally have:
- ATT, CTA, ACA or ACCA qualification, or be close to completion
- Experience within a UK accountancy practice or tax consultancy environment
- Strong knowledge of personal tax compliance
- Exposure to personal tax advisory work
- Experience reviewing tax returns would be advantageous
- Excellent communication and client facing skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- A proactive and commercial approach to client service
