TPF Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a highly respected and growing accountancy practice in South East London for an experienced Tax Manager to join their established private client team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified CTA Tax Manager with strong expertise in personal tax, trusts, estates and inheritance tax planning. Candidates with a TEP qualification will be of particular interest, although this is not essential.

The role offers a varied portfolio, meaningful client relationships and the opportunity to play a key role in developing junior team members, while working closely with senior leadership on complex trust and estate matters.

The Role

As Tax Manager, you will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of private clients, trusts and estates, providing high quality tax compliance and advisory services. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a portfolio of personal tax clients, including high net worth individuals
  • Overseeing trust tax compliance and advisory matters
  • Advising on Inheritance Tax (IHT) issues relating to both individuals and trusts
  • Assisting with estate administration, probate and estate tax work
  • Reviewing tax returns and ensuring compliance deadlines are met
  • Supporting clients with tax planning opportunities
  • Supervising, mentoring and reviewing the work of junior team members
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Working alongside partners and senior management on complex tax projects

The tax team provides comprehensive tax advice to high-net-worth individuals, landlords, businesses, and corporations across various industries. Their services cover personal tax planning, succession planning, OMB taxation, asset structuring and trusts, Wills, and Probate.

The successful candidate will maintain expertise in personal taxation, including mitigation and planning, while fostering strong client relationships through excellent communication. You will report to partners with innovative tax planning ideas, manage a diverse personal tax portfolio to meet both compliance and consultancy needs.

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced tax professional who can demonstrate:

  • CTA qualified or equivalent tax qualification
  • Strong experience within personal tax, trusts and estates
  • Knowledge of Inheritance Tax, Trust Tax and Estate Tax
  • Experience managing a client portfolio within an accountancy practice
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills
  • Ability to mentor and develop junior staff

  • Probate and estate administration experience
  • Experience working with high net worth individuals and family wealth structures
