About the Firm
This is a forward-thinking and growing accountancy practice with a client base made up largely of small and medium-sized businesses. This role is primarily based in their Kingston office, with hybrid flexibility (3 days office, 2 days remote). The business is built on a strong foundation of technical excellence, client care and a collaborative culture.
The Opportunity
You’ll be joining as a Personal Tax Advisor, reporting directly to a partner and taking on a key role in developing and leading the personal tax function over time. It’s a role with plenty of autonomy, scope to grow into a leadership position, and real influence over how the department evolves. You’ll be working closely with company directors and sole traders, providing high-quality tax compliance and advisory services. There’s a real mix of interesting clients and complex work here, including plenty of tax planning opportunities.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing a varied personal tax portfolio of 150-200 clients
- Preparing and reviewing self-assessment tax returns, including complex cases
- Handling P11Ds and ad hoc tax queries
- Spotting tax planning opportunities across income tax, CGT, property and inheritance tax
- Providing advisory support to both personal and corporate clients
- Supporting junior team members and reviewing their work
- Liaising with partners, and proactively managing client deadlines and expectations
- Occasionally travelling into the central London office for client meetings
