TPF Recruitment is supporting a highly regarded, multisited firm of chartered accountants in its search for a Bookkeeper and Payroll Advisor to join its Marlborough office.
This is a varied position for someone who is comfortable providing both bookkeeping and payroll services to a portfolio of owner managed businesses. The role offers a good balance of regular client work and would suit an organised individual who enjoys building positive, long term relationships.
Responsibilities will include:

Completing bookkeeping for a varied portfolio of clients

Maintaining purchase and sales ledgers
-
Processing bank transactions and completing reconciliations
-
Preparing and submitting VAT returns
-
Processing weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls
-
Calculating statutory payments, pensions and deductions
-
Preparing payslips and payroll reports
-
Managing starters, leavers and changes to employee details
-
Completing relevant payroll submissions
-
Responding to bookkeeping and payroll queries
-
Liaising with clients and colleagues to ensure deadlines are met
Requirements
The ideal candidate will:

Have previous bookkeeping and payroll experience
-
Ideally have worked within an accountancy practice or payroll bureau
-
Possess a good understanding of VAT and bookkeeping principles
-
Be familiar with payroll legislation and workplace pension requirements
-
Have experience using bookkeeping and payroll software
-
Demonstrate excellent accuracy and attention to detail
-
Be organised and comfortable managing recurring deadlines
-
Communicate confidently and professionally with clients
-
Be qualified by experience or hold a relevant qualification
