As a Personal Tax Assistant Manager, you'll take responsibility for overseeing a varied portfolio of private clients, ensuring the delivery of high-quality compliance services whilst assisting with advisory work. You'll work closely with senior members of the tax team and play an active role in developing junior colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of personal tax clients, including individuals, trusts and partnerships, ensuring compliance deadlines are met.
  • Review personal tax returns prepared by junior members of the team, providing guidance and technical support where required.
  • Prepare and oversee more complex personal tax returns and computations.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact for tax-related queries.
  • Correspond with HMRC on behalf of clients and assist with resolving enquiries and technical matters.
  • Identify tax planning opportunities and support the delivery of advisory projects.
  • Coach, mentor and assist with the development of trainees and junior tax professionals.
  • Collaborate with partners, managers and other professional advisers to provide a joined-up service to clients.
Requirements
  • ATT, ACA, ACCA and/or CTA qualification (or be studying towards one).
  • Previous experience within a personal tax team, ideally with some experience supervising or reviewing the work of others.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK personal tax.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to build lasting client relationships.
  • A proactive, team-oriented approach with a genuine interest in supporting junior staff.
