Following a period of sustained growth and strategic acquisitions, our client is seeking an ambitious VAT Manager to join their expanding tax team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with the VAT Partner, taking ownership of a varied portfolio of VAT advisory and compliance work while helping to grow and develop the firm's VAT offering. You'll work with a diverse client base ranging from owner managed businesses to international groups across multiple sectors.

The OpportunityAs a VAT Manager, you will play a key role in delivering practical, commercially focused VAT advice to clients while supporting the continued growth of the tax department.

You will gain exposure to a broad range of VAT matters, including advisory projects, compliance reviews, HMRC enquiries and international VAT considerations. Key ResponsibilitiesAs VAT Manager, you will: Provide high quality VAT and indirect tax advisory services to a varied client portfolioManage VAT projects from initial scope through to successful completionDeliver practical and commercially focused solutions to client VAT issuesBuild and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted adviserManage client engagements, including onboarding, AML procedures, billing and ongoing communicationLead and manage HMRC enquiries, correspondence and negotiationsIdentify opportunities to provide additional VAT and tax servicesWork closely with colleagues across tax, audit, accounts and bookkeeping teamsProvide technical VAT support and training to internal teamsMonitor changes in VAT legislation and communicate developments to clients and colleaguesContribute to business development initiatives, marketing content and thought leadership articlesSupport the ongoing development and growth of the VAT functionRequirementsThe successful candidate will ideally have: AAT, ATT, ACA, ACCA or CTA qualification, or be qualified by experienceStrong technical knowledge of UK VAT and indirect taxationPrevious experience in a VAT focused position within an accountancy practice, professional services firm or similar environmentExperience managing VAT advisory assignments and client relationshipsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsThe confidence to manage projects independently while recognising when to seek support on complex technical mattersA proactive and collaborative approach to workExperience developing or mentoring junior team membersStrong commercial awareness and business development skillsBenefitsOpportunity to work directly alongside an experienced VAT PartnerExposure to a broad range of complex VAT advisory and compliance workDiverse client base including SMEs, owner managed businesses and international groupsGenuine career progression opportunities within a growing firmInvolvement in shaping and expanding the firm's VAT offeringSupportive and collaborative team environmentHybrid working arrangementsCompetitive salary and benefits packageWhy Apply?
