This is a great opportunity to join a growing firm that offers a varied role, strong client interaction and a supportive working environment. The practice works with a broad range of clients including SMEs, owner-managed businesses and individuals, providing high-quality bookkeeping and advisory support.
The Role
- Manage your own portfolio of clients and take responsibility for delivering accurate and timely bookkeeping and VAT services.
- Managing a portfolio of bookkeeping clients across a variety of industries.
- Processing sales and purchase invoices, bank reconciliations and general ledger entries.
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Assisting with the preparation of management accounts.
- Liaising directly with clients and acting as a key point of contact for day‑to‑day queries.
- Supporting clients with cloud accounting systems and providing guidance where required.
- Assisting with year‑end processes and working closely with the accounts team.
- Identifying opportunities to improve client processes and efficiencies.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a bookkeeping role within an accountancy practice.
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and VAT processes.
- Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Confident communication skills and a client‑focused approach.
- A proactive mindset with a willingness to support the wider team.
