TPF Recruitment is working in partnership with a well-established and leading Accountancy firm in Eastbourne to recruit a Legal Assistant to join their Trust and Estates Support Services (TESS) team. This department specialises in Trusts, Estates, Wills, and Lasting Powers of Attorney, and the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting its day-to-day operations.
About the Role
This is a varied and hands-on administrative support position, ideal for someone with strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. You will be supporting fee earners and the wider team, ensuring that client matters are dealt with efficiently and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Opening and closing client files in line with internal procedures
- Gaining working knowledge of client files to assist with communication and support
- Liaising with the new client team regarding engagement letters and AML compliance
- Booking and managing client appointments, including preparing relevant paperwork
- Handling incoming and outgoing calls with clients and third parties
- Preparing legal documents and correspondence for the team
- Updating electronic files and internal records
- Preparing clear and accurate file notes and meeting minutes
- Scanning, filing, and managing incoming post and documentation
Requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organised, with good time management and prioritisation abilities
- Confident working both independently and collaboratively
- Proficient IT skills
- A professional and discreet approach, with the ability to handle confidential information
Experience
Ideally, you will have at least one year of experience in a similar legal support role. However, we welcome applications from individuals with relevant administrative experience from other sectors who can demonstrate the required skills and attributes.
Hours
Full time: 38.75 hours per week. Part time applicants will also be considered.
