TPF Recruitment, Kent's leading accountancy practice recruitment agency, is partnering with a highly regarded firm of chartered accountants in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, to find a Personal Tax Manager for their successful tax team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a market-leading accountancy practice in Tunbridge Wells, where you will enjoy a high level of autonomy, work alongside an experienced team, and have excellent career progression prospects. Our client offers a dynamic and progressive environment while maintaining a strong focus on work-life balance. While there is a bias towards personal tax, there is also an opportunity to get involved in corporate tax too, subject to your experience and aspirations. Both full-time and part-time applicants will be considered. The firm specialises in owner-managed businesses across all industries.
As Personal Tax Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a portfolio of personal clients with complex tax affairs, including UK individuals, HNWIs, and some trusts.
- Leading tax planning projects, covering non-domicile issues, onshore and offshore trusts, capital gains tax, and inheritance tax matters.
- Reviewing and completing complex tax returns.
- Overseeing the compliance function within your team to ensure deadlines are met.
- Handling HMRC enquiries and correspondence on both compliance and advisory matters.
- Managing and mentoring junior staff, supporting their technical and professional development.
- Assisting Directors with the growth and strategic development of the tax department.
Requirements:
Ideally CTA and/or ATT/ACA/ACCA qualified, you will have developed a personal tax career within an accountancy practice or specialist tax firm. Your experience will have been developed in any mix of Top Tier, Top Ten, 50, larger regional independent firm background, or specialist tax firm and your background will most likely have focused down the personal tax route with a strong compliance and tax planning skill set.
