This is a fantastic opportunity where you will be offered excellent exposure whilst having the ability to maintain a strong work-life balance. TPF Recruitment is supporting an independent firm of chartered accountants in Worthing who are looking for an Accounts Manager to join their successful team. You will work in a mixed audit, accounts and tax capacity, where roughly 20% - 25% of your position will be in audit. Our client promotes a fantastic family culture and relaxed working environment, where you will predominantly work your core hours and flexibility will be given, subject to your work commitments. All audits are within the local area. You will have lots of autonomy within your position and the business. The remit of audit and accounts work can be built around the candidate, dependent on their experience and aspirations. My client is also offering a fantastic remuneration and benefits package in order to attract the best candidates in the market. Flexible working and remote working is on offer for the right candidate.

You will be responsible for:

  • Provide accountancy and taxation advice and support to clients as necessary.
  • Conduct client meetings for the presentation of final draft accounts.
  • Manage and review the work of a team of part-qualified accountants.
  • Lead audits from planning through to completion, liaising with the junior members of the team, and the client where necessary.
  • Host and conduct pre-audit and post-audit meetings with clients.
  • Mentor the team -- reviewing their work and encouraging prompt and high-quality delivery and service.
  • Develop and expand the team’s skillset through development plans and training and support.

Requirements:

  • Be ACA or ACCA qualified or nearly qualified, or qualified by experience.
  • Have a minimum of years practical experience in a similar practice-based role.
  • Exposure to FRS 102.
  • Proven experience planning, undertaking and finalising a variety of statutory audit assignments.
  • Proven experience in drafting and finalising corporation tax computations for a variety of companies.
  • Good awareness of other aspects of OMB taxation (VAT, employment and personal taxes).

Benefits: £40,000 - £55,000 dependent on experience and background, negotiable. A highly competitive benefits package is also on offer.
