The Role
As an Audit Assistant Manager, you will take responsibility for managing your own portfolio of audit clients while supporting a Senior Manager and Partners on larger and more complex assignments.
This position would suit someone who is already managing a portfolio of audit clients or an experienced Audit Senior looking to step into their first management role.
Responsibilities
- Managing a portfolio of audit clients across a variety of sectors
- Planning, leading and reviewing audit assignments from start to completion
- Acting as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the audit process
- Reviewing audit files and financial statements prepared by junior team members
- Managing budgets, deadlines and workflow across your portfolio
- Building strong client relationships and identifying opportunities to add value
- Supporting the Senior Manager and Partners with complex assignments and advisory projects
- Coaching, mentoring and developing Audit Seniors and trainees
- Ensuring compliance with UK auditing and accounting standards
- Assisting with business development activities and new client opportunities
Requirements
- ACA or ACCA qualified
- Strong audit experience gained within a UK accountancy practice
- Experience leading audits and reviewing the work of junior staff
- Existing portfolio management experience, or the ability and ambition to take this on
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and auditing standards
- Excellent client relationship and communication skills
- Strong organisational and project management abilitiesA proactive and commercial approach to client service
