Job Title: Qualified Practice Accountant
Location: Sutton, Surrey
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 (dependent on experience)

About the Role: TPF Recruitment is proud to be supporting a well-established, independently run accountancy practice based in Sutton, Surrey. This firm has built an outstanding reputation for delivering high-quality accounting, tax, and advisory services to a loyal and diverse client base. They are looking for a Qualified Practice Accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) to join their friendly and supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced practice accountant who enjoys working closely with clients, managing a varied portfolio, and contributing to the success of a thriving independent firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of clients across various industries, acting as their main point of contact
- Prepare and review statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
- Complete and file corporation tax returns and personal tax computations
- Ensure compliance with all HMRC and Companies House filing requirements
- Provide business advisory services and support clients with their financial queries
- Use Xero daily – including bookkeeping reviews, bank reconciliations, and reporting
- Supervise and support junior team members where required
- Liaise with HMRC, banks, and other third parties on behalf of clients
Requirements
- ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with proven experience in a UK accountancy practice
- Strong working knowledge of Xero – essential
- Confident managing a portfolio of clients independently
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
- Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple deadlines
- A team player with a positive and professional attitude
