TPF Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established and growing accountancy practice in the KT area that is looking to recruit a Part-Qualified or Newly Qualified Accountant to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a firm with a strong corporate client base, offering a highly client-facing and hands-on role with exposure to a varied portfolio of businesses across multiple sectors. The Role
As a Part-Qualified / Newly Qualified Accountant, you will manage a mixed portfolio of clients and work closely with senior members of the team across accounts, tax and advisory assignments. This is a broad role offering excellent client exposure and the opportunity to continue developing your technical and commercial skills within a supportive practice environment.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts under FRS 105 and FRS 102 1A
- Managing a mixed portfolio of clients across a variety of industries
- Supporting with corporation tax compliance and related client queries
- Assisting clients with cloud accounting software and finance-related matters
- Preparing and reviewing VAT returns, including exposure to partial exemption calculations under guidance from the tax department
- Liaising directly with clients and building strong working relationships
- Supporting senior team members with ad-hoc advisory and compliance work
- Managing deadlines and ensuring work is completed accurately and efficiently
- Working collaboratively across the wider practice team
Requirements - The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will likely have:
- ACA or ACCA part-qualified, or newly qualified
- Previous experience within a UK accountancy practice environment
- Strong organisational and portfolio management skills
- Experience preparing accounts for a range of clients and industries
- Good knowledge of cloud accounting software such as Xero
- Experience using CaseWare would be advantageous
- Familiarity with TaxCalc would also be beneficial
- Some VAT knowledge, including exposure to VAT calculations and compliance work
- Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with clients
- A proactive and professional approach with strong attention to detail
