TPF Recruitment is delighted to be working exclusively with a fast-growing, reputable construction and property firm based in the Eastleigh area. Our client is known for delivering high-quality developments across Hampshire and the surrounding areas. Due to ongoing expansion, they are now seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join their finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive, professional environment within a business that values precision, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The role offers flexible working arrangements and can be structured as either full-time or part-time, with a minimum of 3 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out day-to-day bookkeeping duties, including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and maintaining the general ledger
- Manage the monthly CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) returns, ensuring full compliance with HMRC guidelines
- Process subcontractor payments and apply CIS deductions accurately
- Prepare and file VAT returns on time and in line with current legislation
- Assist with month-end close procedures and support the production of management accounts
- Liaise with project managers to monitor job costs and contribute to accurate financial reporting
- Maintain well-organised, up-to-date, and audit-ready financial records
Requirements
- AAT Level 4 qualified or equivalent bookkeeping/accounting qualification
- At least 5 years of relevant bookkeeping experience, ideally including 2+ years within the construction industry
- Strong understanding of CIS compliance and regulations
- Proficient in Sage accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communicator with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently
- Comfortable working both autonomously and as part of a close-knit team
