Accounts Senior/Client Manager in Crawley

TPF Recruitment is supporting a well-established and growing accountancy practice with the recruitment of an Accounts Senior / Client Manager to join their Crawley team. This is a flexible opportunity that can be tailored to the experience and ambitions of the successful candidate. The role would suit an AAT Level 4 qualified or part-qualified Accounts Senior looking to continue developing their career, as well as a fully qualified or experienced Accountant looking to take ownership of their own portfolio of clients and operate in a Client Manager capacity.

Working alongside experienced Managers and Senior Managers, you will have the opportunity to take increasing responsibility for your own portfolio, build strong client relationships and become a trusted point of contact for your clients.

The Role

You will work with a varied portfolio of clients across a broad range of sectors and business types, with the role covering accounts, tax, VAT, bookkeeping and general practice work. Depending on your level of experience, responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and reviewing year end statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, LLPs, charities and limited companies
• Preparing corporation tax returns and supporting with tax computations
• Preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts
• Preparing and reviewing VAT returns
• Bookkeeping and general accounting duties
• Managing your own portfolio of clients and acting as a key point of contact
• Building and maintaining strong, long term client relationships
• Dealing with client queries and providing practical accounting support
• Reviewing work completed by more junior members of the team
• Supporting, training and mentoring junior staff
• Assisting Managers and Senior Managers with more complex assignments and ad hoc projects
• Working collaboratively with other specialist teams within the wider business

For the right person, there is genuine scope to take ownership of a portfolio of clients under the support and guidance of the Senior Managers, effectively operating in a Client Manager capacity. The level of responsibility will be matched to your existing experience, with the opportunity to develop further as you progress.

Requirements

• Previous experience within an accountancy practice
• Strong experience across accounts preparation
• Experience with bookkeeping and VAT
• Good knowledge of general practice work
• A client focused approach and strong communication skills
• The ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines
• An interest in developing and supporting more junior members of the team
• AAT Level 4, ACA or ACCA qualifications would be advantageous, but we are also open to candidates who are qualified by experience
• Experience with CCH, Sage, Xero or QuickBooks would be beneficial, although full training can be provided
