The Role
As Corporate Tax Director, you will play a critical role in developing and expanding the firm’s tax services and portfolio. Your technical expertise, team leadership, and business development will be essential in delivering high-quality tax advisory services and building relationships with owner-managed businesses. Working closely with partners and leveraging in-house specialists across VAT, SDLT, trusts, and estates, you will provide strategic advice on corporate restructuring, profit extraction, corporation tax planning, and business sales and acquisitions. This opportunity arises from continued organic growth within the tax team and the firm as a whole.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and grow the corporate tax advisory team, developing innovative tax strategies aligned with the firm’s broader vision.
- Support the leadership of the wider Tax Advisory Group.
- Identify and pursue business development opportunities, building strong client relationships and generating new work.
- Prepare high-quality tax reports and advisory letters, showcasing technical expertise and tailored client insights.
- Manage client relationships with a proactive and responsive approach.
- Represent the business within the region, participating in industry events to enhance visibility and identify growth opportunities.
Requirements
- Proven success in leading and developing high-performing tax teams with a collaborative and growth-focused mindset.
- Extensive experience in tax advisory for owner-managed businesses, covering corporate tax, business sales, acquisitions, and restructuring.
- Demonstrated ability to generate new business opportunities and grow client portfolios.
- Exceptional skills in building and maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring trust and long-term partnership.
- High-level technical expertise in tax compliance and planning, with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using technology to enhance client service and streamline processes.
Benefits
- Salary circa £70,000 - £85,000 per annum. Given the seniority of the role, there can be flexibility around this for the right candidate, depending on experience.

Requirements
- ATT, ACA, ACCA, CTA qualified, or equivalent. Candidates who are currently studying towards their ACA, ACCA and/or CTA will also be considered, provided you have the necessary experience.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in corporate tax within a professional services firm.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK corporate tax legislation and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex tax matters to clients clearly and concisely.
