TPF Recruitment is supporting a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Chichester with the recruitment of a Part Time Bookkeeping Assistant to join their supportive bookkeeping team. This office-based position offers approximately 22.5 hours per week, which can be worked across 3, 4, or 5 days, providing flexibility around working patterns. The role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail who is looking to build their experience within an accountancy practice environment.
As a Bookkeeping Assistant, you will support the bookkeeping team with the accurate and timely processing of client financial records using a range of accounting software systems. As a Bookkeeping Assistant, you will:
- Process high volumes of client documentation accurately and efficiently into accounting systems, primarily Sage.
- Match, batch, and code client documentation.
- Ensure correct VAT treatment is applied to transactions at all times.
- Process client expenses and maintain accurate financial records.
- Input and reconcile bank transactions in line with team requirements and deadlines.
- Support the Bookkeeping Manager and wider team with general bookkeeping tasks.
- Assist the team in meeting client deadlines and maintaining high service standards.
- Undertake additional duties as reasonably required in line with the needs of the role.
Requirements
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage workload effectively.
- Basic understanding of bookkeeping principles or a willingness to learn and develop within the role.
- Experience using accounting software such as Xero, Sage, Dext, or QuickBooks would be advantageous.
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Previous experience within an accountancy practice or bookkeeping environment would be beneficial, although not essential.
