We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Audit and Accounts Supervisor to join our client's growing team in the audit and accounting sector. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy, compliance and integrity of financial statements across a diverse portfolio of clients. As an Audit and Accounts Supervisor, you will lead audit engagements, oversee financial reporting processes, and strengthen client relationships. You’ll manage mid-level audit teams, ensure adherence to regulatory standards such as IFRS and UK GAAP and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines. With a strong foundation in audit principles and financial accounting, you’ll contribute to the firm’s reputation for excellence and client trust. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage audit engagements for clients across multiple industries, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with IFRS, UK GAAP and statutory reporting requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments, design and implement effective audit procedures and evaluate internal controls.
- Utilize accounting software including Xero, Sage and QuickBooks to analyze financial data and support audit testing.
- Mentor and supervise junior team members, providing technical guidance and fostering professional growth.
- Coordinate with clients and internal stakeholders to collect documentation, resolve issues and meet engagement deadlines.
- Maintain comprehensive, accurate, and up-to-date working papers in line with firm standards and regulatory expectations.
- Contribute to audit process improvements and quality assurance initiatives to enhance service delivery.
- Deliver clear, insightful client reporting and actionable recommendations based on audit findings.
Requirements
- Professional qualification in ACA or ACCA with relevant post‑qualification experience.
- Proven track record in audit and accounts supervision within a reputable accounting firm or corporate finance setting.
- In‑depth knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP and statutory reporting frameworks.
- Proficiency in accounting and bookkeeping platforms such as Xero, Sage and QuickBooks.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with experience mentoring and developing junior audit staff.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial concepts.
- Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- High ethical standards, integrity and a commitment to compliance and quality.
- Willingness to travel to client sites as required.
