TPF Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a well-established and forward-thinking accountancy firm in Sussex, which is expanding its Business Services team. We are seeking an experienced and driven Business Services Manager to join their Brighton office. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and articulate professional to take the next step in their career, working with a diverse client portfolio while also supporting the development of junior staff and getting involved in exciting project work.
About the Role: Due to the firm’s continued growth, the Business Services Manager will work closely with one of the firm’s Client Service Directors, managing a varied portfolio of SME clients and supporting the delivery of high-quality advisory and compliance services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a growing and varied client portfolio, including the review of assignments and providing proactive advice
- Ensure all compliance deadlines are met efficiently and effectively
- Attend client meetings in person and virtually, building strong client relationships
- Support the Client Service Director with fee proposals, billing, and managing work-in-progress
- Assist with one-off advisory and project-based assignments as required
- Coach, support, and help develop trainees, seniors, and peers, including line management responsibilities
- Participate in business development opportunities, including networking and attending prospect meetings
Requirements About You:
- ACA / ACCA qualified with at least 2 years’ post-qualification experience within a UK accountancy practice
- Experience managing a portfolio of clients and reviewing accounts, tax, and other services
- Comfortable using a range of accounting software, particularly cloud-based platforms
- Strong communicator with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team
- Organised, self-motivated, and enthusiastic about helping clients succeed
- Experience in line management or a strong interest in developing others is highly desirable
