We are currently working with a small, family run, accountancy practice who are hiring an additional head into their small but friendly team. Although small (approx 10 staff) they have a truly great culture and boast an impressive client base. This role has come about due to an impressive increase in workload and subsequently turnover. You will benefit from good quality work, in a friendly work environment, with a good work life balance.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Conduct and assist with statutory audits, including planning, fieldwork, and reporting.
- Prepare year-end financial statements for companies, partnerships, and sole traders.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Perform reconciliations, adjust entries, and review bookkeeping records for accuracy.
- Prepare and review management accounts and support clients with accounting systems.
- Handle tax compliance tasks including VAT returns, corporation tax, and self-assessments.
- Communicate with clients to gather information, provide advice, and maintain relationships.
- Supervise and support junior staff, contributing to their training and development.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of auditing, accounting, and tax legislation.
Requirements:
What We're Looking For:
- Ideally you'll be ACA qualified and working at another accountancy practice, conducting audits for clients. But applications will be considered from:
- Part-qualified candidates with audit experience
- Returning to work candidates with audit experience
- Senior candidates looking to 'wind' down, or take a step back
Audit experience is a must for this position, but it will be a mixed audit and accounts opportunity if you'd prefer. Experience conducting audits within the not-for-profit and construction sectors would be advantageous but not essential.
