TPF Recruitment are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Semi Senior professional to join our clients accounts team within the fast-paced music and entertainment industry. This role is central to ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance and strategic financial advisory across a diverse portfolio of artists, labels and creative projects.
As a key contributor to the finance function, you will play a vital role in managing complex accounting operations, supporting audit readiness, and delivering insightful financial analysis that drives business decisions. With a strong foundation in accounting principles and a passion for the creative sector, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to maintain financial integrity, optimize processes and support the sustainable growth of our clients and business units. Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end accounting processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end and year-end closing and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with UK GAAP, HMRC regulations, and industry-specific financial standards within the music and entertainment sector.
- Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and performance dashboards for internal stakeholders and external auditors.
- Provide advisory support to business units on financial planning, budgeting and cost control initiatives.
- Collaborate with legal and tax teams to ensure accurate treatment of royalties, licensing fees and intellectual property income.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with contract terms, royalty statements and distribution agreements across artist and label portfolios.
- Lead reconciliation of complex revenue streams, including streaming, live events, sync licensing and merchandise sales.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy and scalability of accounting operations.
- Support internal and external audits, providing documentation and explanations as required.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of team capabilities and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification in progress or fully qualified.
- Professional accounting experience, preferably within the music, entertainment, or creative industries.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, compliance, and audit support in a regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of royalty accounting, revenue recognition and contract compliance in creative sectors.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros).
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical mindset and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Experience working with international clients, multi-currency transactions and cross-border financial reporting is highly advantageous.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as GDPR anti-money laundering (AML) and data protection in financial services.
This role offers a competitive salary of £30,000–£35,000, dependent on experience and qualifications. Flexible working arrangements and professional development opportunities are available. Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship.
