This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced personal tax professional who enjoys working directly with clients and wants to take ownership of a varied portfolio. The role offers genuine responsibility, flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to the continued development of the tax department.
The Role
The role is hands on and would suit someone who enjoys the detail of personal tax, solving client queries and building strong relationships, whilst also being keen to contribute to improving systems and processes within a growing practice.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing personal tax returns clients
- Setting up and managing client files
- Responding to ad hoc client tax queries
- Managing HMRC correspondence and enquiries
- Resolving tax issues efficiently on behalf of clients
- Supporting the senior team with ongoing development and improvement of tax processes and systems
- Maintaining quality control across tax return preparation
- Contributing to technical research and keeping up to date with relevant tax legislation
- Working collaboratively with the wider tax team and supporting colleagues during busy periods
The Ideal Candidate
- ATT qualified or qualified by experience
- Strong experience within personal tax compliance
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
- Strong technical knowledge of UK personal tax
- Experience dealing with HMRC correspondence and enquiries
- Confident and personable when dealing directly with clients
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high quality work
- Organised and able to manage competing deadlines
- Process minded with an interest in improving systems and ways of working
- Ambitious, proactive and keen to develop
- A strong team player who enjoys sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues
