And it\’s a time of real change for our communications team too. We\’re expanding to meet the needs of our colleagues and customers and we\’re looking for the right people to help us transform our customer communications.

Specifically we\’re looking for a customer communications assistant to help us speak directly to our customers. The successful candidate help deliver important news and updates about timetables and engineering work directly to customers via our on-train and at-station information screens. They\’ll also play an integral role in keeping colleagues informed about planned engineering work and unplanned disruption. And, crucially, we\’re looking for someone to help keep customers informed about the benefits and impact of the work to construct the Transpennine Route Upgrade – the most significant investment in rail in the north of England for generations.

Ideally we\’re looking for someone with demonstrable experience in customer facing communications, ideally in a heavily regulated industry such as rail. The right candidate will also have outstanding written and verbal communication skills and the ability to translate complex information into easy-to-understand messages.
