To our customers, you will be the face of TransPennine Express, so we are looking for individuals who have a genuine passion for customer service and a warm and welcoming manner. You enjoy engaging with people and have an appreciation of working in a cross‑cultural and diverse environment. You are skilled in all aspects of customer service including handling difficult conversations and comfortable processing cash and card payments. You will help customers with their luggage and provide train service information, such as train times and platform information, whilst assisting with ticket checking and ticket selling. Your train service knowledge must be up to date.
Our trains operate around the clock, as do our stations. You will follow a varying shift pattern that can include early starts, night time and weekend work.
We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate:

- Ability to speak clearly and confidently
- Smart and well presented
- Computer literate with the ability to use Microsoft packages
- Ability to get to and from the location without relying on public transport due to early shift start and finish times
Applicants will be invited to complete an online assessment, followed by an interview with our Customer Experience Team and a medical examination including drugs/alcohol screening. Qualified appointees must provide at least two satisfactory references and complete a six‑month probation period. Please note, due to safety reasons, we cannot consider applications from locations more than 50 minutes’ drive from the advertised station.
