In this role you will be part of the Operational Interface & Safety Change team which is part of the Delivery Partnership function within the Major Projects Directorate. The role will be providing subject matter expertise on operational safety change requirements of infrastructure change schemes at TPE, including input on Platform Train Interface, Train Dispatch and the role of conductor/dispatcher, Station Operational Risk Assessments. This role will require close working with Network Rail and Alliance Partners, other operators and across the business to develop safe and highly operable infrastructure change schemes. The role will need to be able to work collaboratively both within the business and with industry colleagues to develop appropriate plans, timelines and operational briefings. A large requirement of this role will be to work remotely, often out of a Network Rail project office.

We are looking for candidates who hold, or have recently held, operational competence as a Conductor or Dispatcher; as the role will support the ongoing development of operational competence and embedding of change and development on infrastructure programmes such as Manchester North West Transformation Programme (MNTP), as well as new operational projects from ETCS, to new trains as required. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the principles of railway operations and a proven track record in leadership and safety change projects. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about training, standards, processes and compliances, and who understands the principles and risks associated with infrastructure and operational change especially around the Platform Train Interface. There will be a requirement for applicants to demonstrate underpinning knowledge and previous experience in delivering operational change or associated activities.
