TransPennine Express is looking for Customer Service Professionals to work in our ticket offices, ticket barriers and train platforms. The role focuses on providing proactive, personable service to all passengers.
Responsibilities
- Operate the station ticket office and ticket barriers.
- Assist customers with purchasing tickets, providing train service information, and offering help to disabled or vulnerable passengers.
- Manage lost property, safety, and cleanliness of the station.
- Keep customers informed with up-to-date train service information.
- Work outdoors under all weather conditions and support wheelchair users and other passengers.
- Follow varying shift patterns, including early starts and night or weekend work.
Qualifications
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Friendly and approachable manner.
- Ability to speak clearly and confidently.
- Smart and well presented.
- Computer literate with the ability to use Microsoft packages.
- Can get to the station without relying on rail service or public transport due to early shift start and finish times.
- Line management experience not essential as this position has no line‑management responsibilities.
- Ability to travel more than 50 minutes’ drive away is not acceptable due to safety reasons.
- Must submit at least two satisfactory references and complete a six‑month probation period.
