The AI Workflow Developer is a hands-on role within T&P’s Innovation team, responsible for building AI-powered workflows, automation pipelines, and agentic systems as part of our Agentic Content Engine (ACE) programme and broader innovation portfolio.

Working closely with the Technical Director, Innovation Lead, and cross-functional teams, you will play a key hands-on role in the development and delivery of AI workflows and systems, from rapid prototype through to production-ready implementation. This is a highly autonomous role requiring strong technical judgement, initiative, and comfort operating with incomplete requirements. We’re looking for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments and enjoys solving messy real-world problems. You’ll be expected to proactively shape technical approaches, make sound engineering decisions, and drive work forward independently in collaboration with the wider team.

The work spans internal AI tooling, automation systems, agentic workflows, and innovation projects. Prior experience in startups, small engineering teams, agencies, or R&D environments is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build AI-powered workflows and automation pipelines using n8n or equivalent orchestration tools, integrating LLMs, external APIs, data sources, and generative AI platforms.
  • Build and iterate on agentic systems and multi-step AI workflows, including RAG pipelines, structured data handling, evaluation workflows, and orchestration logic.
  • Develop production-ready integrations with third-party APIs, handling authentication, webhooks, rate limits, error handling, and real-world data variability reliably.
  • Move fluidly between rapid prototyping, debugging, iteration, and production delivery depending on project requirements and timelines.
  • Build lightweight front-end prototypes or internal tooling where needed to demonstrate concepts, test workflows, or support client delivery.
  • Collaborate directly with strategists, creatives, producers, and clients, translating briefs and business requirements into practical technical approaches.
  • Support deployment and operational processes including cloud infrastructure, DevOps workflows, monitoring, and system reliability where relevant.
  • Evaluate emerging AI tools, APIs, and workflow capabilities as the landscape evolves, identifying where they can add meaningful value to projects and delivery processes.
  • Help establish scalable technical approaches, tooling patterns, and ways of working alongside the Technical Lead.

Key Skills

  • Workflow Automation: Strong hands-on experience with n8n or equivalent workflow orchestration tools, with the ability to design reliable, production-ready automated systems.
  • AI & LLM Integration: Practical experience building AI-powered systems including RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, LLM integrations, structured outputs, and multi-step automation flows. Comfortable working with models and APIs from providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, or equivalent.
  • API & Systems Integration: Confident integrating with external APIs and services, including authentication flows, webhooks, data transformation, and handling operational edge cases.
  • Engineering Fundamentals: Grounded in software engineering best practices including Git/version control, deployment workflows, environment management, debugging, documentation, and maintainable architecture.
  • Prototyping & Delivery: Comfortable moving between experimentation and production delivery, with the ability to rapidly prototype ideas while still maintaining engineering quality where needed.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong communicator who can work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders alike. Comfortable explaining technical concepts clearly and collaborating across strategy, creative, and production teams.
  • Self-Starter Mindset: Comfortable operating independently, prioritising work proactively, and driving progress without requiring heavily structured oversight or detailed ticketing processes.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working across multiple parallel projects and evolving priorities in a fast-moving innovation environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure including compute, storage, and managed services.
  • Familiarity with vector databases, AI evaluation frameworks, observability tooling, or model monitoring approaches.
  • Experience working within agency, startup, innovation, or creative technology environments.

How to prepare for a job interview at T&P

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If T&P uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
