Role details

  • Position: Customer Service Specialist
  • Location: Work at home (full‑time)
  • Start date: 26/01/2026
  • Contract: Full‑time permanent
  • Training: 10 days, Monday to Friday, 9:00‑17:30
  • Hours: 37.5 per week
  • Shifts: Monday‑Friday 8:00‑18:15 (options 8‑16, 9‑17, 10‑18)
  • Salary: £23,804 per annum
  • No weekend work or bank holidays
  • All equipment provided

Responsibilities

  • Sign into systems and prepare for a fast‑paced day.
  • Provide excellent service to a diverse range of customers via inbound telephone channel.
  • Assist customers with employment status, general claims, payments, advances, Covid‑19 impact, changes of details, new Universal Credit claims and appointment‑related queries.
  • Inform customers about benefit payments that help with living costs for those on a low income, out of work or unable to work.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail.
  • Ability to establish excellent customer relationships in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Can‑do attitude and empathy.
  • Professional and friendly telephone manner.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Experience working in a target‑driven environment to a high standard.
  • PC skills, ability to navigate multiple systems competently.
  • Good typing speed and multi‑tasking ability.

Screening and Documentation

The role requires baseline personnel screening (BPSS). If your application is successful you will be asked to provide documents to complete identity, nationality, immigration status, basic criminal records check, and employment/academic history for the past three years. Provide evidence such as employer references, payslips, P45s or other payslip evidence, and documentation for any gaps in work or education. All screening and evidence must be completed satisfactorily before commencement.
