Role Summary
A Senior Business Intelligence specialist to deliver and develop global data initiatives and projects, allowing accurate and intelligent reporting of business performance. Working with senior stakeholders. Sitting within the Data Services team supporting all other areas of TP ICAP’s business. Upskilling / training other divisions, assist delivering a data driven culture.
Responsibilities
- Support and consult with the business to deliver collaborative data projects, generating insights that support business growth, largely through the development of data products and MI/BI dashboards.
- Ensure quality assurance and continuous improvement of processes and service level provided by the data group.
- Educate and support the wider organisation in the creation and use of MI/BI tools and data products, improving data literacy across the organisation.
- Ensure the successful day to day running of the MI/BI infrastructure.
- Work alongside other internal departments to better understand the Group’s services and distribution channels.
- Act with integrity and due skill, care and diligence in carrying out duties.
- Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key decision makers.
- Provide Business Intelligence to help stakeholders identify market gaps and commercial opportunities.
Experience & Skills
- Essential Skills
- Data Visualisation skills (ideally QlikSense Cloud or similar) and Data scripting.
- SQL, scripting, XML/JSON parsing, data modelling/shaping.
- Experience in data modelling, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
- Experience in data lake technologies, preferable AWS/Athena.
- 5+ years of Data Visualisation experience (QlikSense preferred), Looker, Power BI or Tableau.
- 3+ years experience in extracting data from various databases using SQL.
- Experience of training and upskilling more junior team members.
- Experience in ODAG with Qlik Sense would be an advantage.
- Able to work with senior stakeholders to design, develop and maintain BI solutions; ability to work with IT departments, developers and SMEs to extract data and understand data flows/dependencies.
- Analytical skills, including generation of reports using SQL, Qlik Scripting, Qlik Visualisation & NPrinting.
- Good presentation skills, able to demonstrate dashboards for training and adoption; collaborates with users to deliver best solutions.
- Experience with IT practices and managing day-to-day work.
- Owns activities, learns and develops skills with initiative.
- Capable of crafting and executing queries on demand; testing, troubleshooting and problem investigation.
