Role Overview
This position is part of the EMEA Employment Legal team, reporting to the Head of Employment Legal, EMEA, and working with two other employment lawyers within the team. The EMEA Employment Legal Team is part of the wider EMEA legal team of 12 lawyers supporting the EMEA business and support functions and reporting to the General Counsel, EMEA.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead in preparing appropriate contractual documentation including bespoke contractual arrangements, settlements agreements and related employment legal documents.
- Provide specialist employment law advice and assistance on various matters including contractual issues, disciplinary and grievance procedures, discrimination and equal opportunities, TUPE, confidentiality and restraint of trade across the region.
- Support the EMEA HR and ER teams with day-to-day enquiries and ongoing matters.
- Assist with all aspects of employment litigation across the region.
- Manage advice on employment issues in other jurisdictional offices including France, Spain and Dubai.
- Oversee the management of external counsel.
- Provide training to the HR function on specific topics as required.
- Liaise with key business stakeholders and support function leads to deliver excellent service.
- Fulfil additional/ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
Key Skills And Competencies
- Solid experience in employment law, with a proven track record in employment legal roles both in private practice and in house ideally within the financial services industry.
- Ability to work with stakeholders (including at a senior level) outside the immediate department.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders with an ability to build effective relationships and networks.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

Qualifications
- University level degree.
- Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales (or equivalent).
- Strong post qualification experience gained in private practice in a commercial employment law practice and in-house preferably in a financial services environment.
