Role Overview

The Battery Metals market is one of the fastest growing markets in the commodities sector. As economies seek to electrify their grids and the global move towards electric vehicles continues to gather pace, demand and supply are struggling to find a natural balance, creating significant price volatility and the need for effective risk management tools.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to help build out a market leading business, broking Cobalt, Lithium and Molybdenum futures products onto the worlds commodity exchanges.

With brokers located in both London and Singapore, Battery Metals will become one of the key offerings for Tullett Prebon to help its clients with their transition to a net zero economy.

Role Responsibilities:

  1. Promote TP ICAP
  2. Maintain and develop existing client relationships and make contact with prospective new clients where appropriate
  3. Maintain an up to date knowledge of the products and markets in which you work; actively solicit feedback from industry participants through various means, including trade calls, surveys, industry events, trade shows and conferences
  4. Understand the desk’s business strategy and seek to identify new business opportunities relating to trends, future markets, products and clients
  5. On-board new clients following the correct process with the Client On-Boarding team
  6. Assess client needs and financial conditions to identify internal cross selling opportunities
  7. Understand pertinent regulation within the evolving regulatory landscape
  8. Support a risk and compliance aware culture and comply with group policies
  9. Exercise independent judgement and act with integrity, care, skill and diligence to avoid conflicts of interest and escalate issues as appropriate

Experience / Competences:

Essential

  1. Experience of broking commodities or Battery Metals specific experience as an analyst/trader/reporter
  2. Exceptional client focus / delivery skills.
  3. Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment, can keep emotions under control in difficult situations.
  4. Constructively handles disagreements to reach a resolution.
  5. Works ethically and shows respect for both professional and company values.
  6. Understands ideas and has a viewpoint on the markets and economy.
  7. Build relationships and networks with both internally and externally wherever possible.
