Role Overview

Liquidnet is seeking an experienced professional with deep electronic execution expertise and strong relationships in European markets. This individual will play a pivotal role in developing new opportunities, cross-selling our electronic trading business, and improving engagement with existing clients. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in electronic trading sales and extensive technical knowledge of algorithms and trading strategies. They will also have well-established relationships across asset managers, market participants, and brokerage firms. They will be instrumental in driving growth, expanding market presence, and positioning Liquidnet as a leading electronic trading provider globally. The role reports to the EMEA Head of Business Development, who is responsible for growing the revenue of the Liquidnet business across Equities, Multi-Asset, and various business channels, including Execution & Quantitative Services (EQS).

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive revenue growth by working with transactional teams to increase the adoption of Liquidnet’s EQS products and services among existing clients.
  • Work with sales teams to create and update EQS collateral.
  • Increase Liquidnet’s client base in the region and re-engage dormant accounts.
  • Help drive the development of messaging, client engagement, and the Liquidnet brand in the region.
  • Work with the listed derivatives team to identify and develop cross-selling opportunities.
  • Collaborate with client-facing and product teams to identify new business opportunities and develop innovative offerings.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all Liquidnet products, including awareness of new developments and launches (beyond EQS).
  • Operate within the Business Development structure to proactively prospect new opportunities and ensure relevant EQS stakeholders are kept informed of progress and key developments.

Strategic Leadership & Execution

  • Work with key stakeholders to develop Liquidnet’s client strategy for EQS alongside the Head of EQS.
  • Integrate liquidity, products, services, and distribution channels to optimise access for existing, dormant, and prospective clients.
  • Help drive innovation by proposing new products, services, and revenue diversification initiatives.

Client Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Strengthen relationships with asset managers, brokers, and market participants to enhance engagement and client satisfaction.
  • Attend industry conferences, network with key stakeholders, and represent Liquidnet at academic and professional forums.

Experience / Competencies

Essential

  • Deep knowledge of electronic trading and algorithmic trading strategies.
  • Proven experience managing revenue and delivering results with strong commercial impact.
  • Proven experience building and managing execution businesses.
  • Strong relationships and experience with buy-side clients, sell-side firms, and exchanges in EMEA and globally.
  • Expert knowledge of equities market structure, workflows, and challenges.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial services, trading platforms, related product offerings, competitors, and overall market dynamics.
  • Outstanding organisational, interpersonal, and people management skills, with exceptional leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively across teams while also exercising sound judgement and working independently.
  • Strong analytical and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Passionate, enthusiastic, and driven, with a strong work ethic and positive energy.

Desired

  • European languages are a plus.
  • Knowledge of multiple asset classes, including equities, fixed income, derivatives, FX, digital assets, delta-one products, structured products, energy, and commodities.
