Role Overview

Finance at TP ICAP involves managing the financial operations of a leading liquidity and data solutions specialist, connecting clients in the world\’s wholesale markets. The finance team is responsible for ensuring accurate timely financial reporting, and managing the cash and balance sheet position across the globe. The team collaborates closely with the business to ensure that we meet regulatory reporting requirements and appropriately manage the financial risks of the business. This is a broad role reporting in to the Group Financial Controller you will be responsible for owning the groups accounting policies and their application globally.

Role Responsibilities

  1. Own the group’s accounting policies in accordance with IFRS for a Jersey Company headed group listed on the London Stock Exchange
  2. Own the preparation of the year end annual report (along with half year and Interim Management Statements) related RNS, Press Release and linked documents
  3. Identify, support and implement new ways of working that improve efficiency, control and resilience
  4. Build relationships globally including Tax, Legal, Company Secretarial, Treasury, Compliance and wider Finance teams to ensure that information and supporting analysis is prepared and delivered to fulfil the Group’s reporting requirements
  5. Key point of contact with the external auditors ensuring we build an appropriate open relationship and execute a well-planned on time on cost audit
  6. Contribute to organization design to ensure compliance with group accounting policies and consolidation accounting practices
  7. Oversee the preparation of certain subsidiary statutory accounts
  8. Support and provide clear and timely accounting support and guidance on the application of International Accounting Standards (‘IFRS’), UK Standards (‘UK GAAP’) and US Standards (‘US GAAP’) for strategic transactions
  9. Evaluate and advise on the implications and implementation of new and amended accounting standards
  10. Supporting the budgeting and planning processes through the preparation of budgeted and forecast Group balance sheet and related notes and analysis
  11. Review of month financial reports prepared for Financial Stewardship Reviews, in particular covering Balance Sheet and Cash Flows reviews and forecasts
  12. Maintain relevant and current professional technical knowledge and comply with Continuing Professional Development requirements of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (‘ICAEW’), or equivalent

Experience / Competences

Essential

  1. Chartered Accountant or equivalent
  2. Experience of working in or with financial services businesses regulated by the FCA or PRA
  3. Significant exposure to IFRS for a UK (or European/Globally) listed business
  4. Understanding of UK rules for realised reserves and dividend payment
  5. Deep understanding of financial statement preparation process and IFRS disclosure requirements
  6. Working in or closely supporting a Group Finance function

Desired

  1. Broad experience across UK listed businesses in financial services
  2. Corporate transactions and due diligence for M&A
  3. Experience or corporate reorganisations and key considerations in creating an efficient effective organisational structure to support the business
  4. Aware and able to challenge the external auditors approach
