Role Overview

Assist the Head of Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) and Senior AFC Associate with the day to day execution of the AFC control Framework.

Role Responsibilities

  • Review of Customer Due Diligence (CDD) escalations and queries from Client Onboarding (COB).
  • Quality Control testing of new approved cases and periodic reviews.
  • Testing of AML (Anti-money laundering)/ CDD controls operated by the First Line of Defence.
  • Support the AFC team with the design and development of new controls in order to enhance the existing AFC Framework.
  • Provide support and training for the 1LOD with regards to CDD and the development of procedures/guidance accordingly.
  • Assisting the collation and production of monthly, annual and ad-hoc EMEA AFC Management Information.
  • Assisting with Gifts and Entertainment queries from the business.
  • Provide support for ad-hoc projects that require AFC Management or engagement as required.
  • Provide SME advice and guidance to teams across EMEA that are involved in the AML / CDD Process.
  • Operation of Sanctions Controls.

Experience / Competences

  • Sound knowledge of UK AML regulatory requirements.
  • Understanding of Financial Crime risk management principles.
  • Previous experience gained working in Wholesale Financial Markets, undertaking AFC activities.
  • Ideally experience working with a Compliance/Financial Crime Function.
  • Constructively handles disagreements to reach a resolution.
  • Communicates effectively and efficiently to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Handles situations and problems with innovation and creativity.
  • Adapts communication style to suit audience.
  • Good attention to detail, highly organised with a proactive approach.
