An established and growing renewable energy organisation is seeking an experienced and motivated O&M Manager to lead its Operations & Maintenance division. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing planned and reactive maintenance across Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP), Solar PV systems and EV charging infrastructure, while developing internal capability and managing a nationwide network of service engineers. The role offers the opportunity to build and scale a high-performing O&M function within a fast-growing and sustainability-focused environment.
The Role
The O&M Manager will take full ownership of operational performance across maintenance delivery, system monitoring, back-office functions and team development. This office-based position will be central to ensuring service excellence, compliance and long-term operational growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Planned & Reactive Maintenance
- Oversee all planned servicing and reactive maintenance for ASHP and Solar PV systems
- Coordinate engineer scheduling, parts logistics and client communications
- Ensure works are delivered within SLA requirements and compliance standards
- Monitoring & System Performance
- Manage Solar PV and ASHP monitoring platforms, ensuring consistent system uptime
- Identify underperformance, diagnose issues and coordinate corrective actions
- Produce monthly reports covering performance metrics and service KPIs
- EV Charging & Back-Office Management
- Oversee EV charging back-office platforms, ensuring chargers remain live and monitored
- Manage user accounts, remote diagnostics and escalation processes
- Coordinate smooth transition from installation teams to long-term maintenance
- Team Leadership & Development
- Build and manage an internal team of service coordinators and engineers
- Recruit and manage a network of approved subcontractors nationwide
- Implement training, quality assurance and performance standards
- Develop a scalable team structure aligned with business growth plans
- Operational Management
- Develop and refine O&M workflows, service procedures and documentation
- Ensure compliance with MCS, NICEIC and internal quality & safety standards
- Improve scheduling efficiency, reporting accuracy and cross-department communication
- Support budgeting, forecasting and divisional performance reporting
About You
We are seeking a structured, commercially aware and technically competent O&M professional with proven experience in renewable energy or building services environments.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience managing O&M operations within Solar PV, ASHP or EV infrastructure
- Strong understanding of planned and reactive maintenance workflows
- Experience using monitoring platforms (e.g. SolarEdge, SolisCloud, myEnergi or similar)
- Strong leadership experience managing internal teams and subcontractors
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Experience using CRM or job management systems (e.g. simPRO, ServiceM8 or similar)
