We are looking for a Project Manager who will be responsible for supporting the end-to-end commissioning and successful handover of solar PV and battery energy storage systems. This includes reviewing design and planning requirements, supporting functional testing and validating performance throughout the various project stages between concept and energisation, ensuring all assets meet design specifications, safety standards, and operational requirements. The role also involves coordinating with EPC contractors, OEMs, grid operators, and other client stakeholders to ensure smooth energisation, compliance, and timely project delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Support by acting as the operational expert during design, build and commissioning of utility-scale solar PV and BESS systems.
- Liaise with OEMs for factory and site acceptance tests (FAT/SAT) of inverters, batteries, switchgear, transformers, and protection systems.
- Conduct system inspections, punch list creation, and resolution tracking.
- Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and safe commissioning procedures.
- Support and monitor the project through the Final Acceptance Certificate (FAC) period, ensuring performance guarantees, defect correction, and contractual obligations are maintained.
- Collaborate with O&M and asset management teams to track KPIs, respond to warranty claims, and maintain compliance with regulatory and grid operator requirements.
- Support the onboarding of third-party or acquired solar and storage assets into the O&M portfolio by performing technical due diligence, reviewing legacy documentation, identifying gaps or risks, and helping standardise asset management practices.
- Experience working with utility-scale renewable energy projects.
- Desirable qualifications - SSSTS / IOSH / NEBOSH.
- To have come from a technical background within Utility-Scale Solar and/or BESS.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems (LV/MV/HV), grid integration, and power electronics.
- Ability to read and interpret SLDs, wiring diagrams, and OEM documentation.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
