We are looking for an enthusiastic person who is eager to learn the skills needed to develop a career as a forklift engineer. This apprenticeship role is an excellent opportunity to combine on-the-job working, excellent training and development, and the chance to work for the world’s No. 1 forklift truck and materials handling manufacturer.

Responsibilities

  • Shadow and work with your mentor and the service team to understand materials handling equipment.
  • Learn about forklift trucks, how they work and how to repair them.
  • Attend block weeks at college for classroom and workshop learning.
  • Complete online learning and development with the learning provider.

Qualifications

  • We are looking for someone with an interest in mechanics/engineering and a practical, hands-on approach to learning.
  • You should have a keen interest in your personal development and a positive attitude towards work and study.
  • GCSE grades A-C / 4-9 in English, Maths and either Science/Engineering or IT (or equivalent).
  • Interest in mechanical engineering/engineering.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Willingness to take instruction and develop.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Applicants must be aged 18 or over due to health, safety and customer site access requirements.
  • Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence to travel between customer sites.
