Internship in production engineering supporting new vehicle development: assist process and equipment planning, specs, reporting. For engineering students. 11‑month role in the UK.
Get to know your team and responsibilities:
- Support and/or lead new vehicle in house vehicle preparation from SE (development) to final trial completion supporting a successful vehicle SOP, achieving all KPI requirements with specific follow of Toyota quality and productivity conditions.
- Lead new equipment/process introductions into UK and overseas manufacturing facilities all on time and to budget.
- Support/develop innovative solutions to reduce cost/lead time of existing processes and develop EU unique technologies towards a successful implementation on vehicle.
- Introduction of key equipment from Europe and Japan to pre agreed layout and to pre‑defined milestones.
Your responsibilities:
- Support SE group with body development.
- Specification creation and confirmation with EMC and supplier.
- Support OP development and follow to agreed milestones.
- Visualisation of project status to all levels of the organisation.
- Timely reporting to TME management at all levels upon request including the required EMC.
- Development of new equipment from vendor sourcing to handover on behalf of the required EMC (Japan/European equipment).
- Contractor control awareness (safe work and scheduling) with continuous project management.
- Some overseas travel may be necessary as part of the role.

- Under University education @ degree level in a Mechanical/Mechatronics Discipline.
- Practical knowledge of 3D design software.
- You have a strong willingness to learn new skills.
- Excellent communication skills and demonstrated leadership ability.
- Must be able to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
- Self‑starter capable to work under minimum instruction/supervision.
- Fluent in English (Oral and written) (TME Business language).
- Flexible and willing to travel to various locations within our Manufacturing facilities as required/requested by tasks provided.
It is mandatory that applicants are students for the entire period of the internship.
